Improving Our Schools

The current budget offers pay raises to teachers that they should have received under Nikki Haley. So we are already ten years late. And pay raises, while essential, are only one part of the solution.

They also need the resources and support needed to ensure a safe, strong, and creative learning environment. Our schools are underfunded, our curricula are choked by uninformed and half-hearted laws written by legislators with personal agendas and no education experience.

I want to recruit good teachers, retain them for long careers, and then make sure they have a secure retirement. I want to highlight and support exceptional students, making sure they are ready to succeed.
