Here's what you should know about Dr. Clemson Turregano, the Democratic candidate for S.C. House 33:
Clemson is the Founder and CEO of Global Leadership Services, which specializes in executive education and leadership development.
Clemson has been married to Susan for 38 years and they have two sons, a grandson, and a granddaughter.
As the son of an Air Force pilot, Clemson has lived around the world. After his father's retirement, Clemson attended high school in southwest Florida.
As a student at The Citadel, Clemson enlisted in the S.C. National Guard.
In addition to graduating The Citadel, Clemson holds a Master of Arts in Political Science, a Master of Public Affairs and a Doctorate from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, as well as a Master of Arts in Security and Strategy from the U.S. Army War College.
Clemson served 24 years in the Army as an Armor officer, at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and the U.S. Naval War College.
Clemson commanded troops during the Kosovo incursion and peacekeeping operations afterward.
Upon retirement, Clemson transitioned to executive leadership, working globally in countries like Belgium, India, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa.
Clemson serves as the Founding Senior Fellow at Furman University's Center for Innovative Leadership.
He continues research, writing, and designing leadership programs for organizations across the United States.
Beyond his professional work, Clemson is dedicated to humanitarian efforts, training leaders through the Consortium for Humanitarian Service and Education.
In his spare time, Clemson enjoys travel, touring historic sites, paddleboarding, and motorcycling.
